Kindness#2

Today I went to my friend’s house. Me and my mom on the elevator and when we want to press the button in their floor we found that it is broken. My mom said it still work so we can just leave it there like others and someone live there will deal with it. I think that is wrong if everyone thinks it works now and do not need to worry about it no one will deal with it so one day the button does not work will makes things inconvenient and dangerous, so I went to find the manager and let him know he need to fix it. He is very happy that I told him about it because he also wants everyone lives there are safety. I am happy too, because I make the people live in there safety.

Kindness#1

Few weeks ago there was a heavy snow, almost all of our home is surrounded by heavy snow. It’s dangerous to go out in cold weather ,because it’s easy to be slipped, so I decided to clean the driveway in front of my house. The thing makes me happy is that when people pass by the door, it becomes easier and won’t be slipped.  I also helped my mom clean the snow of the front yard, stairway and some passageway around our house. I think my mom felt happy too, because I help she did the most of the work, she do not need to work outside for long time in the cold weather.

Two

The author and illustrator of the book “Two” is Kathryn Otoshi. I think it is a good book for the kid in grade 1 to grade 3. The main theme of the book is friendship and courage. In the story, one and two is a very good friend, they play and dance together, and then the three is coming. The three start play with one, because three is odd number. And then two start play with four, six and eight, so the number is going to two group which is even and odd. The odd number disagree. Two quickly steps up and tells everyone that there is no need to fight and that you everyone can play with whoever they want. Three apologizes to Two,  the one and two be the friend again, and live happily ever then. I really like this book, this book tells us that you can finish with some new friends but you can’t leave your former friends and let everyone get along very well. The writer and illustrator is very creative and makes the picture book very pretty.

The story starts with a colour blue, and he always wants to change to another colours except red, everyone likes blu. Red is the bully and red starts try to add all the colours on himself. He is scary everyone and get bigger and bigger, and then gray come, gray is one and he is not afraid of red and everyone starts be brave. Every colours is going to counting, and blue change to 6. The colours sand in the front of the red and let him stop bully him, the red finally change to 7 and starts play with them. I really like  the book because it tells the kids that stand up for themselves and do not scary by the bullies. I think it is a really good picture book used the simple things to show the kids that not scary by bully.

Ivan: The Remarkable True Story Of The Shopping Mall Gorilla

The book “ Ivan: The Remarkable True Story Of The Shopping Mall Gorilla” written by Katherine Applegate and the illustrated by G. Brian Kara. I think this book is good for the kids aged 4 to 8. Ivan was capture when he is small and taken to Tacoma with other monkey. They were put in a mall dressed in human clothes, eat the human food, and have the names Ivan and Burma. Berma dies shortly after they captured her, but Ivan survived, and lived in the mall for 27 lonely years. After 27 years, People started protesting, and trying to get Ivan back into the jungle. Ivan got sent to a zoo instead, that took care of their animals, and they also had 2 acres of land, just for gorillas, which was better than a 14″ by 14″ inch cage. I like how the people told a true story about a sad event so that people can learn and will not make the same mistakes. Overall, I think that the book Ivan: The Remarkable True Story of the Shopping Mall Gorilla is great and that the writer and illustrator did a good job on making an amazing picture book

What Do You Do With An Idea

The book “What Do You Do With An Idea” written by kobi yamada and illustrated by Moe Beson. The book is about a boy, who has a big idea, and the idea wants attention. The child likes spending time with the idea, but is told and criticized that the idea is too wild or crazy. He almost leaves the idea, until he realizes- ideas can be large and wacky, everything that you see around us is all made up of ideas, and that it’s okay to have them. Ideas are what make up all things in the world- good and bad, and if you pursue your idea, it could possibly change the world. The moral of the story is to always think about your ideas, and try to pursue them, even if other people tell you not to. If you think it’s a great idea, you might as well remember and hold on to it! Your idea might even have a big impact on our universe and change the world. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I know so many younger kids have dreams, but may think they’re impossible to accomplish. This book will definitely inspire them and give the confidence to hold onto their ideas. Overall, I think that many children should definitely read this book, and I would recommend it to younger kids.

Chopsticks

The book “Chopstick” written by Amy krouse Rosenthal and the illustrator is Scott Magoon.  This book is very easy to understand so it should be a good book for the children who is 3 to 6 years old.

It is a picture book about chopstick it also related to friends. The story main idea is when one member of a pair of chopsticks suffers an accident, both learn that friendship can benefit from separation. Chopsticks with a supporting cast of the familiar Knife, Fork and Spoon, the plucky chopsticks learn that sticking together sometimes requires venturing out alone. This is refreshing in its lighthearted, upbeat treatment of the value of occasionally going one’s own way. I really like this book this book because sometime need to collaborate and sometime need to things in the own way.

Spoon

The book “spoon” written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and the illustrated by Scott Magoon. It is easy to understand, I think it is a part of book for grade one to grade three.

It is a story about tableware. It is a story start at a spoon and he is compared the spoon to fork, knife and chopsticks. He think everything is better than him and he is envies them. The writer made them to a story can make children know about tableware. Also they use the story tell the children a truth that do not compared to other things because they have they own upset, so be confidence and you are unique.

In conclusion, I think this is a really good book to read. The writer not only tell you about tableware it also extend a truth. Also the illustrator make a lot easy to understand.
