The book “Wanted: The Perfect Pet” written by Fiona Robertson. The book is about a boy that super want a dog with fluffy ear, wiggle tail, and warm tongue that can catch the ball and play with him, so he write his aspiration on the news paper. There is a duck also feel very lonely, the duck doing everything by himself. He read the newspaper and he find out the boy want a dog, so he make himself looks like a dog and go find the boy. They play together, but the boy find out that the dog is not like a proper dog, because the duck can not do a lot of things that he expect. At last, the custom of the dog is broken, and the boy find out the dog is a dog. After he knows that he is a duck, he writes about all the advantage about the duck, like he can talk. They become a very good friend. The first connection I made is “Text to self”, when I was young I really want to have a dog. However, my mom said it is so hard to feed a dog, and after he die you will be very sad. She is not very supports me like the boy’s mom think he has a lot of frogs and he does not need the dog. The next connection is “Text to world,” there are many people including me that does not like to accept the new things. If I really like dogs, I can not accept to have a cat very fast. I do not like to try the new things. In fact, there is a lot of things might better than a dog, so we just need to open mind and you will know there are a lot of things that even better than you expect.                   

The book “The Noisy Paint Box: the Color and Sounds of Kandinsky’s Abstract” is written by Barb Rosenstock and the illustrator is Mary Grandpre. Vasya Kandinsky was a proper boy he studied the same thing as the peer. He learned math and everything that normal people do. When his parents sent him to art class they expect he is a proper arties, but the weird thing is that he can heard the sound of the colour.  However, even though he loved listening to music and painting, he grew up to be a lawyer, what everyone wanted him to be. One day as an adult, he went to a symphony and saw colours in the music. He could hear the sound of the brush, and when he saw the bright colours, he could almost hear them – talk to him and make a sound, just like music. But many people, even his family, told him that his thoughts were ridiculous, but he continued to be an outstanding artist, painting in a new abstract way, no one had ever seen it. The first connection I made is “Text to me” I also learn how to drawing before, and I want to be the the painter then creates my own company, but it seems very hard to success like it says in the book, although he like the music and drawing very much but he still be a lawyer. The second connection I made is “Text to median”, I watched  a very famous show that there are a lot of trainees who go to a very hot program and finally train to become a qualified star and debut. Sometimes I will think about this book when I watch the show. They work very hard everyday, and they have to listen to other people’s gossip, also it is difficult to stick to one thing for a long time, so they must rely on their own efforts to succeed. There are still many people whose parents disagree with them as stars and feel very tired but they sneak out for their own dreams. I like this book and it can encourage a lot of people to let their own dream come true.

The book “Sir Circumference + The Dragon of Pi: A Math Adventure” the author is Cindy Neuschwander and the Illustrator is Wayne Geehan. The story is about a boy Radius and his father Sir Circumference drinks a potion that turns him into a dragon, his son Radius searches for the magic number known as pi which will restore him to his former shape. He works very hard and find out what is the

I think this book is a good for the kid that do not have concept about pi and teach them know about it by the story that interesting and that will makes the kids want to read it. It is also very good for the kid that starting learning circle because the book will makes it easy to understand. I really like this book because the author use the fun way to make the book interesting and also can teaching the kids math. I think it is a really good book and the author and illustrator works really well makes the book more interesting. I will introduce this book to the kids.

The book “After The Fall: How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Again” is written and illustrated by Dan Santat. The story is about a bird egg he love to sit on the wall and watch the birds flying and think about the life after he grow up, but one day accident happen, he fall down from the wall. Since then, he is so afraid to climb back because he afraid that he will fall down again. He decide to make a airplane and fly up to the wall, but his plane was fall to the other side of the wall. He climb up the wall again to get back his plane, he get over his fear and climb up again. The first connection I made is Text-World, I still remember the day we run the Terry Fox run. In the book, the bird egg was fall from the wall, and he trying to get back again he made a plane. Terry Fox have said that “everything you try is possible” before. The bird egg do not know how to make the plane but he work really hard and in the end he made the plane successfully and he even overcoming the fear of the wall. I admire Terry Fox’s courage and perseverance that the  bird egg has too, I think they are all examples I should learn. The second connection I made is Test-self, my mom told me a moral when I was little that don’t give up even though you have fail before, like it says on the book the bird egg was fall from the wall but he keep trying and overcome your fears. There will be a lot of challenge in the life, so I think I should learn from the egg that keep trying no matter how hard it’s going to be. The last connection I made is Test-media, there are a lot of chicken soup on the internet that motivate you to do something, I think this book is also makes me motivated to do something. They both encourage me to do something and they both tell the story and teach me something. Overall, I think it is a really good story that use the simple example to tell the kids should not give up and keep trying.

The book “There” is written and illustrated by Marie-Louise Fitzpatrick, the book written in question form, a small girl is wondering when she will get there. I How will she know? How long will it take? Will she never be silly again? Can she pick daisies? Will there be rainbows? Will she finally know Everything – all the secrets? Can she change her mind and go Elsewhere instead? Finally, she decides she has lots to do, and she’ll deal with the issue tomorrow. The author little girl ponders what the future holds, steadfast in her determination to find out for herself. n the book the author use the word “There” many time and I think there is not somewhere that really presence it is the future, she is trying to exploring the future. The first connection is text-to-media, I watched a interview I celebrity said that before he become famous he encountered many difficulties and he feels very lost in a long time. He said that his family is not support him to be a celebrity and do not support him learn singing and dancing, he does not know what to do. He does not know what is future will be, but he keep trying and in the end he is successful. He said that he does not want to know what is going to happen in the future. The future should be challenging.

The book “Wangari’s Trees of Peace : A True Story From African”, by Jeanette Winter. In the story Wangari as a young girl growing up in Kenya, she went to America to study, and she was surrounded by trees. After six years, when she returns home, she is shocked to see whole forests being cut down and beautiful everything, and she knows that soon all the trees will be destroyed. So Wangari decides to do something—and starts by planting nine seedlings in her own backyard. She makes all the women help her planting and pays them money. There are a lot of men try to cut the tree down, she try to block them to not cut the trees but the government do not allow she doing that, so the police catched her to the jail. While she is in the jail the women still doing the planting, after she return she saw every beautiful things like before, and the women also have their own right again. The first connections I made is “test-to-self” a few years ago when I was in China, the teacher organized us to make some posters to promote not to cut down trees at will. Although we have not stopped everyone from cutting down trees, we have done what we can to do and make people understand the dangers of felling trees. The other connection I made is “test-to-midia” I watched a movie a few months ago. The movie was mainly to tell people not to cut trees too much or at will. Tell us about soil erosion, rocky desertification, and disasters such as mudslides and landslides. It also causes the ecological environment to deteriorate, leading to local or global ecological imbalances, species reduction or extinction. It will change the climate, cause local rainwater to decrease, increase malignant weather, and frequent natural disasters. It will also have a great impact on the quality of the air environment, resulting in a decrease in oxygen, an increase in sand and dust, an increase in the greenhouse effect, and a deterioration in the living environment of mankind.

The author and the illustrator of the book “The Fantastic Undersea life of Jacques Cousteau” is Dan yaccarine. The book is about Cousteau that he has a sickness and the doctor said that he need to swim and it maybe can heal his sickness. After that, he start swim everyday and he wants to explore the sea dipper and dipper. He made a camera that can use in onder water and can light in the really deep. He also found a group of that wants to explore the deep sea and they even live in the under water. In the book cousteau like to diving, I also try to diving before. I did not going that deep like Cousteau, but I saw a lot of fishes and some tortoise it is very pretty and I really want to diving again. In the end of the book Cousteau tells others that to protect the sea I read the book about publicize we need to protect the sea. I saw a news that the sea is contaminated very badly, so the peoples need to protect it otherwise the ocean is not going back anymore. I have read this book kind of book before, and I really think we should protect the ocean.                   

The book “Bat’s Big Game” is about a bat in a football game which have two team one of them are animals team and the other one is the birds team. The bat always want to be the team that won the game, he said he is the animal when the animal team won and he said he is in the birds team when the birds side won. The story remind me the things that happen to my real life, once I have the PE lesson there is  a person the change the way the support, if their team won the game he will show that he is very happy and say everyone did a good job, but when their team lost he always blame that who is not good at PE and who should not play the game. I don’t really like the person that doing the things like that because as a team they should not blame each other even they lost and in a team everyone should do the things that they are good at. I read a book about the people that always changing their mind by the interest, and in the end the author want to tell that most people do not have their firm mind and very easy to change their mind are not successful in the end. Long time ago, there are two countries have war between them one of the country sent an undercover to the another country and the other country does not know he is a undercover so they send him to the country which is the one he is come from as a undercover.  He lie to both country like the “bat”. I have watched a TV show, I still remember the part there are two persons they are watching the football game. One of them thinks the red team will win and the other person thinks the blue team will win. They made a bet that if the one they think is going to win if they lost, they need to have some kind of punishment. The person who choose support the blue team always change the team he support and made the bet hard to go on. After that no one made the bet with him.

Today at school I helped Sam find out the password of his PB blog. He forgot what is his password and username so I show him my password because if he did not change the password we all have the same password. Also, I show him what is my username looks like and help him try what might be the correct one. He is really thank me that he can going to do his work, and I am happy that I can helped him.  

Today my mom wants buy a hand soap but she is tired and do not wants go to the store to buy the things, so I decide go out and help her buy one. She is really happy that I can help her doing this thing. I also very glad that I can help her do something in the rainy day.
